Step 1: Download and Run the Tool
Launch the Yahoo Backup tool on your system. Run it as an administrator. Ensure all the prerequisites are fulfilled and click Continue.
Step 2: Select Backup Mode
In the opening wizard, select Single Mode to backup a single email account or Batch Mode to backup multiple accounts.
Step 3: Log in to your Yahoo Account
Enter the required credentials for your Yahoo account if you opt for Single Mode. However, if you opt for Batch Mode, then import a CSV file containing user credentials. Then, click Log in.
Step 4: Expand the Tree Hierarchy
Now, expand the tree structure to preview the folders present in your Yahoo account. Select the folders you want to proceed with and click Next.
Step 5: Select Saving Format
To backup, Yahoo Mails to PST Format, select File Formats and choose the PST option from the drop-down menu.
Step 6: Specify Path
Further, click the Destination button to browse and select the path to save PST files. Click Next.
Step 7: Remove Duplicate Mails
Now, to eliminate duplicate emails from your files, checkbox Remove Duplicate Mail on the basis and select the basis for removal- To, From, Subject, and Body.
Step 8: Attachment Option
The tool allows you to:
- Migrate Emails Without Attachment Files: Check this feature to skip the file attachments while migrating the emails.
- Save attachments in Folder: Utilize this feature to store attachments elsewhere from the emails. Specify the path to save attachments in a folder.
Step 9: Applying Additional Features
Yahoo Backup Tool also offers some additional features for enhancement. These are:
- Skip Previously Migrated: Choose this feature to exclude the emails you have already migrated before.
- Free Up Server Space: Utilize this feature to delete the migrated data from the server for more storage space.
- Split Resultant PST File: This feature can be used to split large output PST files into smaller PST files. You can specify a size for splitting.
Step 10: Applying Date and Name Filter
- You have an optional Date Filter in the software wizard. Select this filter to migrate selective emails from a start date to an end date.
- Also, check the Custom Folder Name option to add a name for your resultant file.
Step 11: Backup Emails
Finally, click on the Start Process button to initiate the backup of the Yahoo files to PST file format.
Step 12: Download Report
After a successful backup, you can view the status of your imported emails. Click the Download Report button to download the final backup report. Hit the Home button to restart the process again.
Follow the steps from 1 to 4 as mentioned for Yahoo to PST and then implement the below-mentioned steps:
Step 5: Select Saving Format
To backup, Yahoo emails to Gmail, click Email Client and select Gmail option from the drop-down menu. Click Next.
Step 6: Sign in Gmail Account
Further, enter your Gmail email address and click Login to sign into your account.
Step 7: Authentication
You will be redirected to the browser to complete the authentication process. After successful authentication, you will receive this message.
Step 8: Remove Duplicate Mails
Now, checkbox Remove Duplicate Mail on the basis and choose the basis among- To, From, Subject, and Body for duplicate removal.
Step 9: Applying Additional Features
This tool provides some additional options to enhance your backup process. These are:
- Skip Previously Migrated: Select this feature to exclude the previously migrated emails. Click OK once scanned if no such emails are found.
- Migrate Emails without Attachment Files: Check this feature to skip the file attachments while transferring emails.
- Free Up Server Space: Utilize this feature to delete the migrated data from the server.
Step 10: Apply Filter
- Furthermore, check the box beside the Date Filter option to migrate selective emails by providing a start and end date.
- Subsequently, choose the Custom Folder Name option to enter a name for your migrated Yahoo files. Click Next.
Step 11: Start Backup
At last, click the Start Process button to back up Yahoo files to your Gmail account.
Step 12: Download Report
Check the status of your migrated emails. Click the Download Report button to download the final backup report. Click the Home button to restart the process.
